There's a variety of late night bars and a few discos in the area, but families with older children might prefer nearby Fuengirola where there's a more lively nightlife. For flamenco dancing there's a nightly show from Tuesday to Saturday, with or without dinner at the Hotel Torrequebrada about twenty minutes from Mijas - there's the 2230 International show, 2330 Flamenco show which ends at 0030. There's Spanish classic ballet and flamenco every Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening at 2230 at Sala de Fiestas Bona Dea at Nueva Andalucia, which is near Puerto Banus - about thirty minutes.
Biddy Mulligan's La Cala de Mijas is an Irish bar. Very popular. It provides all round good food at very competitive prices.
Next door to Biddy's is Gusto's restaurant. A popular eating place where they have a buffet on a Sunday for 11 Euros!
The area of Mijas and La Cala have a range of restaurants to suit all ages and pockets. All of which can be accessed very easily, for those of you who do not drive a local taxi is very competitive.
