Malaga, Marbella, Fuengirola, Benalmadena, Mijas, Alhaurín El Grande are all a short drive away with one of our properties as your base and there are great day trips to Granada, Seville, Gibraltar and even the snow of Sierra Nevada in the winter. You can embrace Spanish life at one of the local fiestas, explore the history of the area in places such as the Picasso Museum, enjoy the many local family attractions eg the Aquapark, swimming with dolphins and Fuengirola Zoo, play golf on one of the many courses here - some of which are championship level, relax in a local beach bar - or of course just lie by the pool in the only location in Europe to have more than 320 days of sunshine every year!

La Cala Hills is a wonderful retreat from the bustle and excitment of the coast which is only a 5 minute drive into the village of La Cala de Mijas.
La Cala Hills is an ideal location, 15km from Marbella with all it's chic restaurants and bars and 5km from Fuengirola with all it's lively charm.
If you want a more local venue La Cala and Calahonda are both less than 5km away, and these provide a wealth of bars, restaurants and shops. La Cala also has a Blue Flag Beach Award and has many water sports and activities to suit every taste. Calahonda boasts the El Zocco Centre which has Italian, Chinese, Slovakian restaurants to name a few and some great bars for excellent nightlife.
Only 25 minutes from Malaga airport it remains a popular destination for people of all ages. Formerly a busy fishing village but still retains its character.

The area around the apartment, Mijas Golf and the whole Costa del Sol is a sports enthusiasts paradise. As you might expect with the mild climate the emphasis is on enjoying the outdoors.
If you are looking for a watersports holiday Mijas Golf and the rest of the Costa del Sol is the right place for you.
If you are a water baby then you don't have to go far. There are three fabulous pools and three childrens pools. One heated pool for the milder months. . Alternatively the facilities at the Byblos Hotel are less than 5 minutes drive away from the apartment on the Mijas Golf complex. |

Windsurfing, waterskiing, kitesurfing (or flysurfing as it is sometimes known), sailing, fishing and diving are all also available locally. Benalmadena Marina and the sea front at Puerto Banus and Marbella all good places to start your enquiries. |

Horse riding is very popular in this part of Spain and there are equestrian centres on the coast, including three in Marbella, (Club Hipico Elviria, Marbella Club Hotel and Los Montersos Hotel) and further inland around Ronda if you fancy some mountain trekking.
If you want to play tennis whilst you are staying at the villa at Mjias Golf, the Byblos Hotel has 5 tennis courts available for hire.

Take a stroll down by the wonderful "blue flag" beaches.Whilst strolling along the beach take time to visit the "Chiringuitas" (beach bars) and the cafes dotted around the area. You will find gastronomic delights to suit all pockets.
At La Cala de Mijas there is a horse racing stadium for those of you who like a flutter. It's good fun and inexpensive.

PUERTO BANUS HARBOUR
For those of you who love to shop 'til you drop, there is Puerto Banus with all the best shops. Its location is approximately 30 mins by car.
For adult fun there is the casino at Torrquebrada. This can be reached in about 20 mins.
At La Cala de Mijas there is always something to do. There are plenty of water sports such as scuba diving and sailing. For those of you who enjoy action packed holidays then try the go karting. The famous Malaga Go-Karting Club is only 10 mins away and is enjoyed by both old and young.

Andalusian Horses in a Magic Show
The show "Rhythm on Horse" is a real equestrian ballet. its choreography is based on some reprises of Classic and Vaquera Tame, the music is clearly Spanish and the dress out is the ancient Andalusian style. Only those who have the opportunity to admire it can believe what they are seeing.

In the warmer months the beach provides a wealth of entertainers. There are the clowns, dancers, mini bungey jumping and hair stylists.
FUENGIROLA
Fuengirola has 5 miles of sandy beaches. There is a wide variety of entertainment and restaurant choices. An excellent selection of designer shopping mixes well with the typical gift shops on the front.
Follow the shopping baskets on Tuesdays and you will find yourself at the largest and liveliest street market on the coast. Fuengirola Old Town is a maze of narrow streets with fabulous restaurants and a great atmosphere.

Club Del Sol offers superb sports facilities. Tennis, paddle, squash and a fantastic gym. With 12 tennis courts and classes for all levels this club is great for the whole family. Enter tournaments or just turn up for a Mix-in where you can play against others of similar levels. Alternatively visit the famous Lew Hoads Tennis Club that gives tennis a whole new meaning.
FUN FOR ALL THE FAMILY AT THE MANY WATER PARKS IN THE AREA
The Aqua Parks are great fun for all the family. The nearest Aqua Park to the apartment is about 10 minutes away.
